Pain management is an aspect of medicine focused on reducing or reversing the effects of pain in order to improve a patient’s quality of life. As a medical specialty, pain management can take many forms, and is often a collaborative effort between many medical specialists and a patient’s primary medical care provider.
There are many kinds of pain management strategies that may be recommended to a patient, depending on the kind, severity and complexity of the pain experienced including pharmacological therapy, interventional therapy, and alternative therapy.
At Baldwin Bone & Joint, our pain management team is led by Dr. Richard Webb, a fellowship-trained pain management specialist and board-certified anesthesiologist whose passion is to get patients back in the game of the life they enjoy. Dr. Webb offers treatment options for patients with spinal disorders, joint issues, cancer-related pain, complex neurologic conditions as well as general work and athletic related injuries. Additionally, Dr. Webb is involved in the advancement of novel, ultrasound-guided procedures for precision guided interventional pain management.
