Bay Business News | 22nd Many More Miles Campaign Collects 5,000 Shoes
22ND MANY MORE MILES CAMPAIGN COLLECTS 5,000 SHOES: Hundreds of residents across Baldwin and Mobile counties participated in Baldwin Bone & Joint’s 22nd Annual Many More Miles Campaign by donating gently used shoes. This collective effort resulted in approximately 5,000 pairs of shoes being gathered and prepared for redistribution to those in need. Of the total shoes collected, 2,000 pairs were donated through partnering Baldwin County Board of Education and other local schools. The remaining 3,000 pairs came from a variety of sources, including Baldwin Bone & Joint physicians, employees and patients, in addition to members of the surrounding communities through dropoff sites at the Spanish Fort, Daphne and Foley YMCA locations; City Hope Church; the University of South Alabama Student Recreation Center; White-Spunner Realty and McCoy Outdoor Co. These collection points played a crucial role in facilitating the campaign’s outreach and enabling broad participation. Under the experienced distribution of City Hope Church Outreach Coordinator Melanie Daw and her team, these shoes will go directly to those in need across Mobile and Baldwin counties.

Celeste P. Fleming, PA-C, joined fellowship-trained spine specialist Dr. Charles Gordon’s team at the Spine Institute at Baldwin Bone & Joint. Fleming earned a Master of Health Science in physician assistant studies, a Master of Education in exercise science/cardiac rehabilitation, and a Bachelor of Science in medical technology, all from the University of South Alabama.

The Spine Institute at Baldwin Bone & Joint has announced the addition of Celeste P. Fleming, PA-C, to the clinical team of fellowship-trained Spine Specialist Dr. Charles Gordon. Fleming earned a master of health science in physician assistant studies and a master of education in exercise science/cardiac rehabilitation, both from the University of South Alabama (USA). She completed a BS in medical technology with a minor in chemistry from USA.

2026 Campaign Concludes with Impactful Shoe Distribution Event
Daphne, AL (April 28, 2026) – Hundreds of residents across Baldwin and Mobile Counties participated in Baldwin Bone & Joint’s 22nd Annual Many More Miles Campaign by donating gently used shoes. This collective effort resulted in approximately 5,000 pairs of shoes being gathered and prepared for redistribution to those in need.
Of the total shoes collected, 2,000 pairs were donated through partnering BCBE and local schools, demonstrating strong community engagement from students and their families. The remaining 3,000 pairs came from a variety of sources, including Baldwin Bone & Joint physicians, employees and patients, and members of the surrounding communities through drop-off sites at the Spanish Fort, Daphne, and Foley YMCA locations, City Hope Church, University of South Alabama Student Recreation Center, White-Spunner Realty, and McCoy Outdoor Company in Mobile. These collection points played a crucial role in facilitating the campaign’s outreach and enabling broad participation.

Fleming earned a Master of Health Science in Physician Assistant Studies and a Master of Education in Exercise Science/Cardiac Rehabilitation – both from the University of South Alabama. She completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology with a Minor in Chemistry from the University of South Alabama.
