Baldwin Bone and Joint To Host Free Chronic Pain Relief Seminar

Topic: Get Back to Living! Discover Options for Managing Your Chronic Pain with Dr. Elliott Pennington

DAPHNE, Ala. (August 21, 2026) — Daphne-based orthopaedic practice, Baldwin Bone & Joint, P.C. will host a free, in-person educational seminar Sept. 22 featuring Dr. Elliott Pennington, fellowship-trained pain management specialist, on treatment options for people living with chronic pain. The seminar entitled “Get Back to Living! Discover Options for Managing Your Chronic Pain,” will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Baldwin Bone & Joint, 1505 Daphne Ave., Daphne.

Pennington will discuss minimally invasive interventional pain management treatments, including nerve blocks, radiofrequency ablation, spinal cord stimulation and the Intracept procedure. The seminar also will include remarks from a special guest who is successfully managing chronic pain.

A Gulf Coast native, Pennington earned biomedical sciences and medical degrees from the University of South Alabama, then completed an anesthesia residency and interventional pain medicine fellowship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Miss. He is a member of the American Medical Association, American Society of Anesthesiologists, and American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.

Community Education Series with Dr. Andrew McGee and Dr. Andy Harcourt on September 10

DAPHNE, Ala. (August 14, 2026) – Daphne-based orthopaedic practice, Baldwin Bone & Joint, P.C., returns with its Community Education Series in September. Dr. Andrew McGee, an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacements, and Dr. Andy Harcourt, fellowship trained non-surgical sports medicine specialist, will present a complimentary Lunch and Learn event on the topic entitled “Non-Surgical & Surgical Solutions to Chronic Knee Pain – Understanding the Process: When to Choose, What to Expect & Keys to Effective Recovery.”

This event will be held on Thursday, September 10 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (lunch served starting at 11 a.m.) at Spanish Fort Community Center, 7361 Spanish Fort Blvd., Spanish Fort, AL.

From patient to coworker to family

Amy Strickland’s family started out as patients of Baldwin Bone and Joint, but Amy felt called to go further.

“I’d come in and everybody was so nice and friendly. It just felt warm here. I just fell in love with the place.”

When an job opportunity opened up, Amy took it and began working at the practice. Little did she know, her new coworkers would become family, helping and providing support after her son, Cleighton, was in a near fatal car accident.

“When you’re stuck in a hospital situation and you see all of your work family wearing shirts and supporting your son, it just gives you a different outlook for where you work. They supported us, you know, whatever I needed—making sure that I knew they were waiting on me here. And that I had real friends and people that cared about us.”

Mobile Bay Magazine (June 2026) Dr. Allison Hunter is a board certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon at Baldwin Bone & Joint, specializing in hand and upper extremity surgery. She holds a Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in hand surgery and is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Hunter joined Baldwin Bone & Joint in 2021, as both the practice’s first female surgeon and its first dedicated hand surgeon. Notably, she practices as the only female orthopedic surgeon in Baldwin County.

A Kentucky native, Dr. Hunter earned her medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine with a Distinction in Research. She was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society. She completed her orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), where she served as Chief Resident. She then completed advanced fellowship training in hand, upper extremity, and microsurgery at the Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder Center at Thomas Jefferson University.
