Daphne, AL (January 23, 2019) – The Spine Institute at Baldwin Bone & Joint recently expanded to include Dr. Charles Gordon Jr., the only fellowship-trained neck and spine surgeon on the Alabama and Mississippi Gulf Coast who performs minimally invasive neck and spine surgeries in Mobile and Baldwin County.

Dr. Paul B. Canale, medical director of The Spine Institute at Baldwin Bone & Joint, and Dr. Gordon, perform surgeries that offer faster relief from pain through smaller incisions, shorter hospital stays and quicker recovery times compared to traditional back surgeries.

“Because of Dr. Gordon’s specialized training, our patients will no longer have to travel out of state for laser navigated neck and spine surgeries,” Dr. Canale said. “We now also offer complimentary MRI reviews for those who have been told they need spine surgery.”

Dr. Charles Gordon Brings Minimally Invasive, Motion Sparing Spine Surgery to the Team of Orthopaedic Specialists

DAPHNE, AL (August 16, 2018) – The physicians and staff of Daphne-based Baldwin Bone & Joint are pleased to announce the association of fellowship-trained spine surgeon, Charles Gordon, Jr., MD.

“Early intervention with comprehensive care is key to helping my patients get back to doing what they love,” says Gordon. “For anyone suffering the pain and disability associated with spinal injury or disease, a successful outcome begins with early intervention and open conversation,” continues Dr. Gordon. “The first step to developing an individualized treatment plan is to understand each patient’s goals.” (Photo: Dr. Charles Gordon, Jr.)

Gordon recently completed a spine surgery fellowship with the University of Maryland’s distinguished R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center located in Baltimore, MD. His training in minimally invasive and robotic spine surgery techniques allow him to treat common spinal conditions with small incisions, less blood loss, less initial pain and most importantly a more rapid recovery and return to activities for patients.
