Business AL | 2025 Business Alabama Awards finalists named – Baldwin Bone & Joint’s Many More Miles Included as Finalist
Forty businesses, business people and projects have been selected as finalists for the 2025 Business Alabama Awards.
After taking nominations from the public, we chose finalists in seven categories. Five Lifetime Achievement winners will also be announced in January, and they will be honored, along with winners of the award categories, at a ceremony in Birmingham on Feb. 28, 2025.

21st Annual Many More Miles Campaign – Giving New Life to Old Shoes
JOIN IN JANUARY 8 – MARCH 14, 2025
Local school-age kids, runners, and exercise enthusiasts may have put a lot of miles on old running shoes and shoes for all purposes, but when they are donated to the “Many More Miles” campaign, those gently used shoes will come to life again as they land on the feet of someone who needs them.
Attention: Students, Teachers & Parents
Start donating shoes now to your school to earn money. Baldwin Bone & Joint will award cash prizes to the top three schools in Baldwin County that donate the most shoes. The class that brings in the most shoes overall will receive a Chick-fil-A party and the teacher will be awarded a cash prize provided by City Hope Church.
For those in the community who would like to participate, simply clean up those gently used shoes and tie them together in pairs or place them in bags before dropping them off at any of the following locations:

- The University of South Alabama Student Recreation Center (Mobile)
- McCoy Outdoor Company (Mobile)
- White-Spunner Realty (Mobile)

21st Annual Many More Miles Shoe Drive – Baldwin Bone & Joint Partners With City Hope Church, Baldwin County Public Schools, St. Michael Catholic High School & Bayshore Christian School
Community Outreach Campaign Kickoff – January 8, 2025
DAPHNE, ALA. (Dec. 4, 2024) – Gently worn shoes from schoolchildren, runners and fitness enthusiasts in Baldwin County are set to find a second life through the 21st Annual Many More Miles Campaign.
Organized by Baldwin Bone & Joint, P.C., this community outreach initiative will launch on Jan. 8, 2025 and run through March 14. The campaign collects gently used footwear to support individuals and families in need locally.
Baldwin Bone & Joint’s offices in Daphne, Spanish Fort and Foley will serve as primary drop-off locations, making it easy for local residents to participate. Shoes donated at these sites will benefit a wide range of local organizations, including Empowering People, McKemie Place, Waterfront Rescue Mission, the Salvation Army, Baldwin County Foster Parents Association, Fostering Together Gulf Coast, Baldwin Family Village, City Hope Homeless Ministry, The Dream Center and local homeless communities. Additionally, shoes will be distributed to clothing closets in schools across Baldwin County to assist students in need.
Last year’s campaign set a record with more than 5,000 pairs of shoes collected, and organizers hope to surpass that milestone this year. The initiative continues to expand, with this year’s partners including Baldwin County Public Schools and City Hope Church, along with new additions, St. Michael Catholic High School and Bayshore Christian School. Local participating drop-off sites include White-Spunner Realty, McCoys Outdoors, and USA Recreation Center.

| Spain Is Medical Director For Sun Belt Conference Events
The Sun Belt Conference is hosting a number of events in Foley in November to crown champions in cross country, soccer and volleyball, and Dr. Keith Spain of Baldwin Bone & Joint, a fellowship-trained sports medicine specialist, is serving as the medical director for the events, overseeing the health and well-being of all participating athletes. The championships draw collegiate athletes from across the conference. The Sun Belt Cross Country and Soccer championships have already been held, with the Sun Belt Volleyball Championships to be held on November 21-24 at the Foley Events Center.

Daphne, Ala. (November 12, 2024) – Local school-age kids, runners and exercise enthusiasts may have put a lot of miles on old running shoes and shoes for all purposes, but when they are donated to the “Many More Miles” campaign, those gently used shoes will come to life again as they land on the feet of someone who really needs them.
For the 21st year, Baldwin Bone & Joint, P.C. will host this important community outreach project; the Baldwin County-based orthopaedic practice will once again partner with City Hope Church and the Baldwin County Public Schools. This year two new partners have been added: St. Michael Catholic High School and Bayshore Christian School.
The media, local schools, businesses, and general public are invited to “Save the Date” for the 21st Annual 2025 Many More Miles Campaign which will kick off January 8, 2025. The shoes collected during this campaign will go directly back to individuals and families in the local communities including foster families, local homeless communities, local non-profit organizations, and local schools’ clothing closets. A record-breaking 5,000+ pairs of shoes were donated last year.
