Daphne, Ala. (December 29, 2025) — Baldwin Bone & Joint is proud to announce that Dr. Keith Spain will serve as Medical Director for the Azalea Trail Run, scheduled for March 28, 2026, marking his fifth consecutive year in the role and continuing his long-standing commitment to athlete safety and one of Mobile’s most iconic community events.

The Azalea Trail Run, a long-standing Gulf Coast tradition, draws thousands of runners each spring with this year’s race. As Medical Director, Spain oversees medical preparedness and on-course care, coordinating with race organizers, first responders, and volunteer medical teams to help ensure a safe and successful race for all participants.

“Events like the Azalea Trail Run bring people together and promote healthy, active lifestyles,” Spain said. “It’s an honor to support the runners and the community by helping ensure the race is both successful and safe year after year.”

Mark Calendars Now to Drop Off Gently Used Shoes Week of March 9

Daphne, Ala. (December 22, 2025) – Local school-age kids, runners and exercise enthusiasts may have put a lot of miles on old running shoes and shoes for all purposes, but when they are donated to the “Many More Miles” campaign, those gently used shoes will come to life again as they land on the feet of someone who really needs them.

Baldwin Bone & Joint, P.C., along with City Hope Church and participating Baldwin County Schools, is hosting its 22nd community outreach event. In 2026, the Many More Miles Campaign shifts to a focused, powerful Week of Giving, March 9–13, speeding shoe donations to foster families, homeless communities, and local schools.

Daphne, Ala. (November 3, 2025) – The Sun Belt Conference returns to Foley, Ala., this fall for a full lineup of championship events hosted by Foley Sports Tourism, including the Sun Belt Cross Country Championship (October 30–31), the Sun Belt Women’s Soccer Championship (November 2–8), and the Sun Belt Women’s Volleyball Championship (November 19–23).

Overseeing the health and well-being of all participating athletes as official physician (physician on call) is Dr. Keith Spain of Baldwin Bone & Joint. A fellowship-trained sports medicine specialist, Spain specializes in the non-surgical treatment of orthopaedic injuries and medical conditions in athletes of all ages and skill levels.

“I am honored to serve as the official physician for the Sun Belt Conference Championships,” Spain said. “My priority is to ensure that every athlete receives top-tier medical care, allowing them to compete safely and confidently.”
