The Azalea Trail Run, a longstanding Gulf Coast tradition, draws thousands of runners each spring. As medical director, Spain oversees medical preparedness and on-course care, coordinating with race organizers, first responders and volunteer medical teams. Spain is a fellowship-trained nonsurgical sports medicine specialist with extensive experience caring for athletes and active individuals of all ages.

As part of the initiative, Baldwin Bone & Joint will continue its annual school competition, awarding cash prizes to the top three Baldwin County schools that collect the most shoes. First place will receive $500, second place $300 and third place $200. Organizers say the competition helps motivate students while supporting school programs.
