Spain is board-certified in Family Medicine and holds a certificate of added qualification in sports medicine. His specialty is the non-surgical treatment of orthopaedic injuries and medical conditions in athletes of all ages and abilities. He is particularly interested in diagnostic and interventional musculoskeletal ultrasound, minimally invasive procedures, and regenerative medicine.
Taking a non-surgical approach, he provides treatment options for pain relief from arthritis, tendinitis, and fractures, to sports-related injuries and other medical and musculoskeletal ailments. Spain is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, and the current President of the Baldwin County Medical Society.
